Bitcoin (BTC) surged above $10K on Monday, reaching an all-time high on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
Bitcoin, which has been inching higher since its peak of $9,965 on Dec. 14, is up by more than 70% this year, according to the cryptocurrency tracker CoinMarketCap.
The currency surged above the $10 billion mark earlier in the week, hitting a new all-day high of $11,837.
The digital currency is now valued at $9.5 billion, according the website CoinDesk, which tracks cryptocurrencies.
